OCEAN FESTIVAL

As part of the Fifth International Marine Protected Areas Congress (IMPAC5), we invited the general public and Congress attendees to join us for an amazing community event called Ocean Festival. The IMPAC5 Ocean Festival brought together thousands of attendees, artists, schools, Indigenous communities and passionate ocean advocates to raise awareness and invigorate conversations about the work being done to reverse the global ocean crisis.

Jack Poole Plaza in Vancouver’s downtown core, site of the 2010 Olympics medal ceremonies, played host to this special event that included live musical performances by some of Canada’s top talent including headline performances by The Beaches, Alan Doyle, Steven Page and Shad.   Interactive ocean-inspired activities, educational programming and collaborative art experiences were engaging for both youth and adults alike and celebrated our oceans and the creatures who inhabit it.  Our local host nations were present to welcome guests to the site each day and took the opportunity to educate the public on how their people have traditionally used the oceans for centuries.

BrandLIVE worked with Parks Canada and IMPAC5 to ensure the event was executed seamlessly and complimented the indoor congress programming.
