Tourism Vancouver Board Chair Bob Lindsay (owner, Lift Bar Grill View) announced that Catherine Runnals, President of brand.LIVE Management Group, was appointed as newest member of the 2014-15 Board of Directors for Tourism Vancouver. This comes shortly after Mr. Lindsay announced the appointment of Mr. Ty Speer as president and CEO of the 111-year-old destination marketing and management organization.
Strong leadership and guidance is provided to Tourism Vancouver by its 15-member Board of Directors, representing a broad spectrum of Greater Vancouver’s tourism industry. These board members volunteer their time and contribute extensive knowledge and experience to ensure that the organization is accountable and performance-driven.
“We have a lot of heavy lifting to do as a board in the next year, but I’m up to the challenge and look forward to contributing on behalf of Vancouver’s event industry,” Said Runnals.
A brand activation event management company, brand.LIVE is responsible for some of the Province’s largest public gatherings such as Honda’s Celebration of Light, Canada Day at Canada Place and the Squamish Valley Music Festival… all of which drive considerable economic benefit to British Columbia.
As the President of brand.LIVE, Catherine is the driving force in the agency’s growth – in people, revenue and its strategic direction.
She is a Top 40 Under 40 recipient and in 2012 was named Event Professional of the Year at the National Canadian Special Events Awards.
Catherine sits on the board of Mark Brand’s A Better Life Foundation as well as SFU’s 149 Arts Society. She lives in North Vancouver with her husband of 20 years and their 7 year old son Griffin.
