Showing their commitment to inclusion, the Vancouver Whitecaps took over a full city block of downtown Vancouver for their 10th Annual Pride Match to celebrate the 2SLGBTQAI+ community in style. Branded the ‘Caps & Queens Happy Hour’ this 1,200 person fully licensed pop-up venue allowed Whitecaps fans to celebrate pride hours before the big game.
The Whitecaps hosted Vancouver’s largest drag happy hour with a live set from DJ Nick Bertossi. ’Caps & Queens was hosted by Synthia Kiss (Canada’s Drag Race season 2), and featured drag performances from Batty Banks, Bibi Souphresh, Genesis (Vancouver’s Next Drag Superstar 2023), Jerrilynn Spears, Kara Juku (Vancouver’s Next Drag Superstar 2020), and Tiffany Ann Co. And to top it off in-between drag sets was a performance from acclaimed singer/songwriter Matthew Presidente.
Amplifying their Whitecaps brand with a vibrantly coloured design the event was a colourful and welcoming environment for all. BrandLIVE, having executed a series of street parties for the Whitecaps in 2021, was so proud to support them for this special celebration. From city and stakeholder engagement, to production management, talent coordination and site buildout, the BrandLIVE team acted as an extension of the Whitecaps team allowing them to focus on the in stadium programming.
