Hosted at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver, the 102nd Grey Cup was a Canadian football game that set West Division champion Calgary Stampeders vs. East Division champion Hamilton Tiger-Cats, to determine the Canadian Football League (CFL) championship for the 2014 season. The Strategy

Roar on the shore

Over three days and nights leading up to the game, BRANDLIVE produced the major components of the 102nd Grey Cup Festival, marketed as “Roar on the Shore”. Encompassing indoor and outdoor venues, free and ticketed events, the best in music, entertainment, food and beverage, the 102nd Grey Cup Festival had something for everyone.

BRANDLIVE produced the Red Truck Tailgate Concert Series, TELUS Street Festival and Nissan Family Zone, Blakes CFL Alumni Legends Luncheon, Edgewater Casino Night and the Scotiabank Rock and Roar Gala, with an extensive scope of work including creative direction, talent booking, video content and production, sponsor and exhibitor management, production design, site layout and logistics, technical production, stakeholder management, City permits and licensing, and budget management.

The Impact

The 102nd Grey Cup made a welcome return to Vancouver in November 2014 and BRANDLIVE was excited to continue its long-standing relationship with the Grey Cup organization. Far more than just a sporting event, the Grey Cup Festival is truly a city-wide celebration, capturing the imagination of locals and visitors alike and generating massive economic benefit for Vancouver well in excess of $100m.
