On the Alberta Train with Austin

Favorite winter Olympic sport? Why?
- Besides hockey, half pipe snowboarding, moguls skiing and boarder cross, it would probably be Biathlon. When do you get to see people ski and shoot in the same event. Its like some scene out of the James Bond movie, “The Spy Who Loved Me”
Most unforgettable moment?
- Getting a chance to wear Seth Wescott’s Gold Medal
Other than Canada, which country were you rooting for?
- I would have to say Ghana, I wanted to see the Snow Leopard get a medal for skiing. It didn’t happen, but it was awesome that he was in Vancouver representing an African Country.
What will you miss most about the Olympics?
- Besides pin collecting? It would probably be the parties.
Did you have any sighting or encounters with any celebrities or Olympians?
- Many sightings of celebrities at Club Bud, in one night I saw: John Hamm (Mad Men) , Michael Buble, and the Stanley Cup.
Were there any marketing trends at the Games that weʼll see sponsors adopt in the future as best practices?
- I found that the some of the main sponsors had invested heavily into creating a truly immersive experience. An example was the Coca-Cola Open Happiness Pavilion.
Which brands effectively activated in Vancouver? What about in the US?
- I thought that the brands who were able to create pavilions on the livecity site had the largest impact on the general public in the games. I look back at the Coca-Cola Pavilion, there was a constant lineup for 17 days in a row. It was extremely popular, and they did a great job activating within the pavilion.
